- What are the different types of fence panels?Close board fence panels - are the strongest, heavy duty and best fence panels. We make them at our unit in Northfleet in Kent. These panel sizes range from 1ft to 8ft tall and are all fully framed. We can also make these fence panels in custom sizes.
Feather board fence panels - These panels are also made by us in-house. The feather board panels are similar to the close board panels they are just not fully framed.
Security fence panels - The security fence panels are the close board fence panels with security spikes already fitted on top.
Double sided fence panel - This is the best of both worlds a double sided close board fence panel. This panel looks the same on both sides and super strong.
Contemporary Fence Panels - If you are looking for a modern contemporary looking fence these are the panels for you. There are many different styles to choose from.
Waney fence panels - This is the traditional fence panel and the cheapest. We sell the grange lap panel and it is the best version of its kind.
Picket fence panel - are normally used in a front garden as a divider. These panels come in pointed top and round top.
Extra wide fence panels - We make the widest fence panels available and can be used with slotted concrete fence posts. We can also make custom sizes.
Composite fence panels - Composite fence panels are a great way for a modern garden look. These panels do not need to be painted and do not rot.

When choosing which fence panel is right for you there are a few things to consider: are you looking for security, strength, decoration or a combination of all 3?
Here at G&G we offer a wide variety of fence panels to suit every budget and style.
Our bestselling ‘Beast’ panel is the strongest fencing we sell. This is a fully framed close board panel which is designed and handmade at our factory in Kent. The frame of the beast panel is made using 2 side rails and backing rails. The backing rails are conveniently cut at an angle to allow rain water to drip off.
Side rail measurements: 32mm x 38mm
Backing rail measurements: 32mm x 70mm
8ft and 7ft are made with 5 backing rails.
6ft, 5ft 6in and 5ft panels are made with 4 backing rails.
4ft and 3ft panels are made with 3 backing rails.
The beast panel comes in a variety of options including:
As per the standard beast fence panel but made with feather edge on both sides. Which gives the same look on either sides also giving the fencing panel extra strength.
As per the beast with prikka security strip already installed along the top of the panel. This also comes with 2 panel security brackets, this prevents the panels from being slid out of posts.
All the above panels are available in a wide range of sizes;
1ft-8ft (300mm-2400mm) in height and standard width is 6ft (1830mm) but can be customised in any width up to 6ft (1830mm).
All nails that are used are stainless steel. This is to prevent corrosion and the quality of these nails are not affected by fence treatments like galvanised nails are.
All of the wood used on these panels is fully pressure treated to UC3 standards.
A more cost-effective version of the close-board panel, only suitable for use with concrete posts. Similar to ‘The Beast’ panel, this comes in a wide range of sizes;
1ft-6ft (300mm-1800mm) in height and standard width is 6ft (1830mm) but can be customised in any width up to 6ft (1830mm).
Grange professional waney panel
A stronger lap panel manufactured using 10 vertical battens and a new rebated frame construction. These panels are pressure treated for protection against wood rot and fungal decay with a 20 year guarantee. This popular timber garden fence panel is available in a selection of heights.
Heights available: 3ft, 4ft, 5ft and 6ft. All in standard 6ft width.
Continental panels which come in a variety of highly decorative designs, these are our Slatted, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Staffordshire panels. All of our continental panels come in 1800mm width. Please note* if you’re using existing posts and gravel boards that are set in standard UK 6ft (1830mm) widths you will need to use continental fence packers. These are fixed either side of the panels, so that your panels will fit securely in your existing posts.
Slatted panels
Contemporary panel, perfect for a garden with a modern design. This is fully framed, suitable for use as boundary fencing, screening or partitioning. These panels are high quality made with smooth-planed and rounded timber slats. The slats allow light and air to pass through. Available in natural/green colour only.
Heights available: 4ft, 5ft and 6ft
Width: 1800mm
Buckinghamshire panels
Durable and decorative panel with curved trellis top. Made with ‘herringbone’ joints and screwed for durability. The lattice is spaced at 50mm available in natural/green colour only. Height is measured from bottom-centre to the highest point.
Heights available: 3ft, 4ft, 5ft and 6ft

Hertfordshire panels
Durable and decorative panel with trellis top. A great addition to give your garden a modern contemporary look. Available treated in green only.
Heights: 4ft, 5ft and 6ft
Width: 1800mm
Traditional fencing perfect for defining a border without blocking views. Ideal for a front garden or sectioning off areas. Available in brown and natural/green colours and a choice of pointed top or round top.

Do I need wood or concrete posts?We would recommend concrete fence posts for fence panels. Wood is also a good option if using uc4 treated posts. This will ensure they will last with ground contact.We only sell uc4 treated posts.
What colour do fence panels come in?Our wood fence panels come pressure treated in natural (green) or brown.Do you make tall fence panels?Yes! We make fence panels from 1ft to 8ft tall. We can also make custom sizes.Do you make wide fence panels?Yes! We make the widest fence panels that you can buy. The fence panels range from 7ft to 10ft wide.What side of the garden fence is mine?
The fence could belong to a property, and the best way to be certain which fence belongs to a specific property is to check the deeds. Deeds will often indicate which boundary the property owner is responsible for.Are the fence panels treated?All of our fence panels are fully pressure treated.Do I need to treat my fence panels?You will not need to treat your fence panels bought from G&G as they are fully pressure treated but if you want to keep them looking fresh we recommend Barrentine Timber Protector to repel water, protect against UV damage and mould. The Barrentine Timber Protector offers good surface protection due to its wax content, but it's really only suitable for use on pre-treated timber.
What nails do you use?We use stainless steel nails for our fence panels made in-house.
