A picket fence panel is a decorative fence to mark boundaries without obstructing the view. This is a low fence made of a row of spaced out flat vertical boards that are pointed or rounded at the top.
Our picket fences are handmade at our own manufacturing plant and are fully pressure treated, they come in brown or green and can also be painted to suit your requirements.
We use stainless steel nails which are long lasting and prevent any streaking which you could get from low grade nails.
Our picket fence panels come in 3ft and 4ft pickets in both round top and pointed top.
We would recommend using 4x4 wood posts with our picket fence panels. Concrete fence posts can be used.
You will not need to treat your fence panels bought from G&G as they are fully pressure treated, but if you want to keep them looking fresh we recommend Barrentine Timber Protector to repel water, protect against UV damage and mould. The Barrentine Timber Protector offers good surface protection due to its wax content, but it's really only suitable for use on pre-treated timber.
Our picket fence panels come in natural green and brown.
Yes it can! Painting treated fencing wood will not only help you achieve your ideal aesthetic but also gives the wood an additional layer of protection, which is always good.
Most treated timber is still “wet” from the treatment and needs time for the chemicals in the wood to settle and dry. You will notice, the wood is heavy and will still feel damp to the touch. If primer or paint is added to it at this point, there is every likelihood that it will be rejected by the water-based chemicals that are still working their way through the wood.
It is important to allow the timber to dry out fully before attempting to add paint or primer. This can be a lengthy process and may even take up to a few weeks depending on where the wood is stored. If there is too much heat and direct sunlight, this can cause the treated timber to warp instead of dry out. Damp conditions can also prolong the drying-out period.
