- Do double sided fence panels fit in standard posts?Yes! Our double sided fence panels can be installed with concrete slotted posts or 4x4 wood fence posts. Before ordering we would need to know what posts you would be using as the panels are made slightly different for the correct type of post.What is a double sided close board fence panel?
A double sided close board fence panel is a heavy duty fence panel that looks the same from both sides.
What sizes do they come in?Double sided fence panels come in 3ft to 6ft tall and 1830mm wide
Do I need to treat the fence panels?You will not need to treat your fence panels bought from G&G as they are fully pressure treated but if you want to keep them looking fresh we recommend Barrentine Timber Protector to repel water, protect against UV damage and mould. The Barrentine Timber Protector offers good surface protection due to its wax content, but it's really only suitable for use on pre-treated timber.
What colour do the double sided fence panels come in?Our double sided fence panels come fully pressure treated in natural (green) or brown.
Are the fence panels treated?Yes, all our fencing and wood is fully pressure treated.Do I need wood or concrete posts?We would recommend concrete fence posts for double sided fence panels. Wood is also a good option if using uc4 treated posts. This will ensure they will last with ground contact. We only sell uc4 treated posts.Can double sided fence panels be painted?Yes it can! Painting treated fencing wood will not only help you achieve your ideal aesthetic but also gives the wood an additional layer of protection, which is always good.Most treated timber is still “wet” from the treatment and needs time for the chemicals in the wood to settle and dry. You will notice, the wood is heavy and will still feel damp to the touch. If primer or paint is added to it at this point, there is every likelihood that it will be rejected by the water-based chemicals that are still working their way through the wood.
It is important to allow the timber to dry out fully before attempting to add paint or primer. This can be a lengthy process and may even take up to a few weeks depending on where the wood is stored. If there is too much heat and direct sunlight, this can cause the treated timber to warp instead of dry out.
