- What is a featherboard fence panel?
A featherboard fence panel is similar to a close board fence panel, it uses the same feather edge and fixings. The main difference is they are made without side rails. These panels are very popular with the trade.
How long do feather edge panels last?Pressure-treated feather edge panels can last 10-15 years or longer with proper care. Keeping them off the ground with gravel boards and retreating the wood every few years will also help.
Can I cut feather edge panels to size?Yes, you can trim feather edge panels to fit awkward spaces or non-standard gaps. Just seal any edges with a wood preservative to protect against moisture and rot. It’s best to use a circular saw.
What sizes do they come in?The feather board fence panels come in 3ft to 6ft tall.Are the fence panels treated?All our fence panels are fully pressure treated.Do I need to treat the fence panels?You will not need to treat your featherboard fence panels bought from G&G as they are fully pressure treated but if you want to keep them looking fresh we recommend Barrentine Timber Protector to repel water, protect against UV damage and mould. The Barrentine Timber Protector offers good surface protection due to its wax content, but it's really only suitable for use on pre-treated timber.
What colour do the close board fence panels come in?Our fence panels come fully pressure treated in natural (green) or brown.
Are they strong?Yes! Our featherboard fence panels are very strong but we do make a stronger fence panel. Please click the link to see the stronger panels.
Can I Collect?You can collect it from our depots in Kent or South London. However, as these items will be big and heavy, make sure you have a suitable vehicle to fit them in. Most people choose to have them delivered as it is easier and more affordable.
