Waney fence panels are made from horizontal, slightly overlapped boards and framed with vertical battens with a top cap. They are pressure treated for ultimate protection against rot and decay.

Standard vs. Twin Sided Waney Panels
Not all Waney panels are the same. The ones on this page are known as standard Waney panels. Here is the difference between them and twin-sided.
- Standard waney panels - These are single-sided, meaning the boards overlap in one direction. One from one side, they flow down; from the other, they flow up. Perfect for gardens where only one side is visible or if you don’t mind the difference.
- Twin-sided waney panels - Also called double-sided. These panels have overlapping boards on both sides, making them look identical from any angle. This is good if neither neighbour wants the “bad” side.
Pre-Treated for a Long-Lasting Finish
The Waney fence panels we supply all come pressure-treated in a brown colour. This means they’re ready to go straight out of the gate (or rather, onto fence posts) with no extra work needed. Most people never paint their waney fence panels, as they look great in their natural brown colour from day one. They are also very awkward to paint as if you have the side facing up, theres a good chance the paint will run down onto next door's side of the fence.

Yes, if you are looking for a cheap fence panel within budget these waney fence panels are the cheapest fence panels on the market.
What sizes do waney fence panels come in?Waney fence panels are 1830mm wide and 3ft - 6ft high.
Do waney fence panels fit in standard posts?Waney fence panels can be installed in concrete slotted posts or 4x4 wood fence posts.
Do I need to treat waney fence panels?You will not need to treat your fence panels bought from G&G as they are fully pressure treated, but if you want to keep them looking fresh we recommend Barrentine Timber Protector to repel water, protect against UV damage and mould. The Barrentine Timber Protector offers good surface protection due to its wax content, but it's really only suitable for use on pre-treated timber.
What colour do the waney fence panels come in?Our waney fence panels come in brown.
Do I need wood or concrete posts?We would recommend concrete fence posts for waney fence panels. Wood is also an option if using uc4 treated fence posts. This will ensure they will last with ground contact. We only sell uc4 treated posts.Can waney fence panels be painted?Yes it can! Painting treated fencing wood will not only help you achieve your ideal aesthetic but also gives the wood an additional layer of protection, which is always good.
Most treated timber is still “wet” from the treatment and needs time for the chemicals in the wood to settle and dry. You will notice, the wood is heavy and will still feel damp to the touch. If primer or paint is added to it at this point, there is every likelihood that it will be rejected by the water-based chemicals that are still working their way through the wood.
It is important to allow the timber to dry out fully before attempting to add paint or primer. This can be a lengthy process and may even take up to a few weeks depending on where the wood is stored. If there is too much heat and direct sunlight, this can cause the treated timber to warp instead of dry out. Damp conditions can also prolong the drying-out period.
