Buckinghamshire Fence panels (also known as Omega fence panels) are a great choice if you want a fence that looks just as good as it performs. The curved lattice top adds style, while the solid standard section gives privacy and security.
Unlike standard flat-top fences, these panels soften the look of your boundary without losing strength. Picking The Right Size
Please note: Every panel is 1800mm wide (slightly less than a full 6ft), and the lattice section is always 300mm (11.8 inches) high. The shoulders of the panel drip by 200mm (7.8 inches), creating the Omega Curve.
If replacing older standard 6-foot-wide panels, you may need packers or small adjustments to get a perfect fit.
- 6ft x 6ft (1800mm x 1800mm) - The tallest option for maximum privacy.
- 6ft x 5ft (1800mm x 1500mm) - A great middle-ground, giving coverage while still feeling open.
- 6ft x 4ft (1800mm x 1200mm) - Ideal for front gardens or decorative boundaries.
- 6ft x 3ft (1800mm x 900mm) - A stylish lower option usually used in a front garden.

Gravel Boards - Do You Need Them?
We always strongly recommend gravel boards with most fence styles if you want to protect your fencing for years to come. You don’t want to invest money into this lovely-looking fence only for it to fall apart before it should. Gravel boards are a cheap investment compared to panels.
They help create a barrier between the panel and the damp ground. Theres two options to consider.
- Concrete gravel boards - The one we recommend. It’s the strongest and the most maintenance-free solution. You can always paint these with masonry paint to blend in more.
- Timber Gravel Boards - Yes, they look better and still add protection, but they won’t last as long as concrete alternatives.

- What is an Omega fence panel?
There are a lot of different options to choose from when deciding which type of fence panel is right for your garden. You need to consider not only the height of the fence and the colour, but also the design. One of the types of fence panels available is the Omega – sometimes referred to as a curved trellis lattice.
An Omega fence panel is a horizontal fence panel. At the top of the panel, there is a rounded diamond trellis. When lined up with other fence panels, the trellis at the top gives a unique ‘wave’ effect that is truly striking to see!
How wide is an omega fence panel?Omega fence panels are 1800mm wide. They are smaller than a standard British fence panel so if you are changing your panels you will need fence packers to make them the same size.
Is an Omega fence panel flimsy?Many people think the Omega fence panel is fragile and will break easily, because of the trellis on top. However, this isn’t the case.
While it might not be as strong as a close board fence panel, this fence panel is still exceptionally durable. The Omega fence panel typically has herringbone joints, where the panels are overlapped with each other and screwed together. This makes it more robust and able to withstand all types of weather. As the trellis has holes, it makes it easier for the wind to pass through, minimising the chances of your Omega fence falling over in windy conditions.
What are the advantages of an Omega fence panel?The main benefit of an Omega fence panel is the modern, unique style it has.
If you want an unusual fence panel that gives your garden lots of modern-day flair, it’s a perfect choice. Another advantage of the Omega fence panel is due to the way it has been constructed; it looks the same from both sides. This means it’s ideal if you have next-door neighbours.
Are the Omega fence panels treated?Yes, all our fence panels are fully pressure treated.
Do you make custom Omega fence panels?No, unfortunately we do not make custom omega fence panels but we do sell an extra side rail so you could cut it down yourself.Do I need fence packers for omega fence panels?If you are using standard British gravel boards you will need to use fence packers with your Omega fence panels to make the the same size. You can cut the gravel boards down to the same size of the panel if you do not want to use them.
Do I need to treat Omega fence panels?You will not need to treat your Omega fence panels bought from G&G as they are fully pressure treated but if you want to keep them looking fresh we recommend Barrentine Timber Protector to repel water, protect against UV damage and mould. The Barrentine Timber Protector offers good surface protection due to its wax content, but it's really only suitable for use on pre-treated timber.
Do I Need Gravel Boards for Omega fence panels?You do not need gravel boards with your Omega fence panels but we would recommend a concrete or wood gravel board for them to sit on. Your fence panels will last longer with a gravel board.What colour do the Omega fence panels come in?Our Omega fence panels come fully pressure treated in natural (green).
Do I need wood or concrete posts?We would recommend concrete fence posts for fence panels. Wood is also a good option if using uc4 treated posts. This will ensure they will last with ground contact.
