DuraPost composite gravel boards are designed as the perfect solution for modern and stylish fencing. With a tongue and groove style profile, these boards can be stacked on top of each other within a DuraPost fence system to create a strong and durable panel. We would also recommend using our reinforcing rods in the top, middle and bottom boards to further enhance the strength. The DuraPost gravel board is extruded from PVCu, manufactured and fully UV stabilised to BS EN ISO 21306-1:2019 The material is extruded with a full through colour so if the board is damaged or scratched during it’s lifetime, the area is not clearly visible and will not cause a detrimental effect to the gravel board. Over the lifetime of the product a gradual minor loss of shine may be noticeable, but this will have not detrimental effect to the material.Using gravel boards to retain soil, it is recommended to fit the reinforcing rods, this will increase the load per 1.8m gravel board to 1.5KN of force. The rods are made from steel tube manufactured to EN 10255:2004 and Hot Dip Galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461:2009.
01 SLOT IN FIRST BOARD WITH REINFORCING ROD AND FIX
We advise that when building a stacked composite fence, the first, middle and top boards should be reinforced with a reinforcing rod, to ensure that the fence is rigid and durable. The gravel board can be fixed with a single screw either side.
02 STACK TO MIDDLE, REINFORCE MIDDLE BOARD
Continue to stack the gravel boards on top of each other, using a reinforcing bar again in the middle board. You may fix each board if you wish, although it is not necessary.
03 STACK TO TOP, REINFORCE TOP BOARD
Continue to stack the gravel boards on top of each other, using a reinforcing bar again in the top board. DuraPost accessories are available to stylize the look of your panels, including capping rails, post caps, and cover strips. For more information view DuraPost Specification.
