Finding the Right Size
Unlike single-slatted fence panels, our double-slatted fence panels only come in to sizes. This still gives you flexibility, depending on your needs.

Concrete Gravel Boards for Double-Slatted Fences
Not everyone who uses slatted fences goes for gravel boards, but in our opinion, you should have them. They act as a protective barrier, stopping the damp from creeping into the fence and making your investment last longer.
You could go for concrete gravel boards (the most popular option). These are heavy-duty, maintenance free and weather-resistant. The other option is timber gravel boards, which give a more natural look and work well with wooden fencing. Just make sure they are pressure treated (if you buy them from us, all of ours are).
Double Slatted vs. Single Slatted - What’s the Difference?
Both styles give you a modern, stylish-looking fence, but the key difference is in the slats. Single-slatted panels have gaps that let in more light and air - making them ideal if you want a fence that defines your boundary without feeling too closed in.
Double-slatted panels have slats on both sides. These still let airflow and some light through but give you more privacy and a sturdier fence. It depends on your needs and budget and which is best for you.
What’s the Best Way to Maintain Double Slatted Panels?
These panels are designed to be low maintenance, but a little care helps keep them looking their best.
If you want to keep the natural wood colour, a UV-resistant wood treatment every few years will do the job. These panels can also be stained or painted to match your style. Just remember that due to the design, they might take a bit longer to paint (especially if you are a perfectionist).
A quick wash with soapy water now and then keeps them free of dirt, algae and grime.
A Good Choice for Shared Boundaries
If you’re putting up a fence between you and your neighbour, double-slatted panels are a great choice. Neither of you ends up with the “bad” side. No more awkward discussions about who gets the rough side of the fence.

This is in the same style as a single slatted fence panel but you can not see through them. Our Double sided slatted fence panels have been made stronger than other double slatted fence panelsHow wide is an slatted fence panels?Double Slatted fence panels are 1800mm wide. They are smaller than a standard British fence panel so if you are changing your panels you will need fence packers to make them the same size.What is the size of the gap in a double slatted fence panel?The gaps are 25mm.Is a double slatted fence panel flimsy?
Our double slatted fence panels are very strong and not flimsy. They are high quality fence panels and they are heavy duty. Most double slatted fence panel are flimsy.
Can you see through double slatted fence panels?No, you can not see through double slatted fence panels but the panel will allow wind and sunlight through.Are double Slatted fence panels treated?All our fence panels are fully pressure treated.Do you make custom double slatted fence panels?No we do not make custom double sided fence panels.Do I need fence packers for double slatted fence panels?If you are using standard British gravel boards you will need to use fence packers with your Omega fence panels to make them the same size. You can cut the gravel boards down to the same size of the panel if you do not want to use packers.Do I need to treat double slatted fence panels?You will not need to treat your slatted fence panels bought from G&G as they are fully pressure treated but if you want to keep them looking fresh we recommend Barrentine Timber Protector to repel water, protect against UV damage and mould. The Barrentine Timber Protector offers good surface protection due to its wax content, but it's really only suitable for use on pre-treated timber.
Do I Need Gravel Boards for Slatted fence panels?You do not need gravel boards with your slatted fence panels but we would recommend a concrete or wood gravel board for them to sit on. Your fence panels will last longer with a gravel board.What colour do double Slatted fence panels come in?Our Double Slatted fence panels come fully pressure treated in natural (green)
Do I need wood or concrete posts?We would recommend concrete fence posts for fence panels. Wood is also a good option if using uc4 treated posts. This will ensure they will last with ground contact.
