Important: Our decorative fence panels are 1800mm wide (Not the UK-Standard 6ft). If you’re replacing existing 6ft panels, you may need adjustments or additional spaces for a perfect fit.

- How wide are contemporary fence panels?Contemporary fence panels are 1800mm wide and are not a standard uk size. You will need continental fence packers to make them 1830mm wide. This will assure they will fit your old posts or if installing new posts they will be the same size as the gravel board.What fence panels are right for you?
What Contemporary fence panel is right for you?
Continental Panel
Continental panels which come in a variety of highly decorative designs, these are our Slatted, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Staffordshire panels. All of our continental panels come in 1800mm width. Please note* if you’re using existing posts and gravel boards that are set in standard UK 6ft (1830mm) widths you will need to use continental fence packers. These are fixed either side of the panels, so that your panels will fit securely in your existing posts.
Slatted panels:
Contemporary panel, perfect for a modern design garden. This is fully framed. Suitable for use as boundary fencing, screening or partitioning. These panels are high quality made with smooth-planed and rounded timber slats. The slats allow light and air to pass through. Available in natural/green colour only.
Heights available: 4ft, 5ft and 6ft
Width: 1800mm
Buckinghamshire panels:
Durable and decorative panel with curved trellis top. Made with ‘herringbone’ joints and screwed for durability. The lattice is space at 50mm available in natural/green colour only. Height is measured from bottom-centre to the highest point.
Heights available: 3ft, 4ft, 5ft and 6ft
Width: 1800mm
Hertfordshire panles:
Durable and decorative panel with trellis top. A great addition to give your garden a modern contemporary look. Available treated in Green only.

Do I need wood or concrete posts?We would recommend concrete fence posts for fence panels. Wood is also a good option if using uc4 treated posts. This will ensure they will last with ground contact. We only sell uc4 treated posts.What colour do contemporary fence panels come in?They come in a natural green finish, which blends well with gardens. You can leave them as they are or stain them to match your style.
Do decorative fence panels let in more light than regular panels?It depends on the style. Slatted and trellis panels allow light to filter through, making your garden feel more open, while solid panels provide more coverage.
How do I install decorative panels on a low brick wall?You can use fence post brackets, or bolt-down supports to secure posts onto the wall before fixing the panels in place.
Will wind damage decorative fence panels more than regular panels?Some styles, like slatted panels, allow wind to pass through, reducing strain. Solid panels should be securely fixed to strong posts to handle bad weather.
Do you make custom size contemporary fence panels?No! Sorry we only make custom sizes in featherboard and close board fence panels. Contemporary panels are available in standard sizes.Are Contemporary fence panels treated?Yes, all our contemporary fence panels are fully pressure-treated to protect against rot, decay and the elements. This means they will last for years without minimal maintenance.
Do I need to treat my Contemporary fence panels?You will not need to treat your Contemporary fence panels bought from G&G as they are fully pressure treated but if you want to keep them looking fresh we recommend Barrentine Timber Protector to repel water, protect against UV damage and mould. The Barrentine Timber Protector offers good surface protection due to its wax content, but it's really only suitable for use on pre-treated timber.
